WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Specialist to join our Clinical team! If you have a scientific background with experience working in labs and/or hospitals or have demonstrated sales experience with a keen interest in clinical sales, then this could be the role for you!


This role will focus on promoting and selling products from Alphalabs and QuidelOrtho. Alphalabs provides a variety of laboratory diagnostic and imaging tests, clinical trial testing, and analytical services for healthcare providers and manufacturers. QuidelOrtho offers essential health information through diagnostic insights, turning data into actionable intelligence across the healthcare continuum—from home to hospital, lab to clinic. This is a nationwide role, dealing with hospitals and lab professionals, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing accounts with our customers for these products, and identifying opportunities to up and cross-sell products. Product training will be offered to ensure you are well-equipped to succeed.



TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate profitable sales for the product portfolio in line with sales targets.

  • Promote products to existing and new customers on a regular call cycle.

  • Advise customers of updates and new technologies.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and customers, identifying key decision makers, maintaining regular contact, and developing relationships into lasting business partnerships.

  • Develop sales campaigns, source new customers and markets, and persuade them to purchase products, leading price negotiations and closing sales.

  • Introduce new products to existing and new customers.

  • Demonstrate products and educate customers about the functions of the product.

  • Provide customers with excellent post-sale follow-up, e.g., training, troubleshooting.

  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals, tenders, and quotations.

  • Attend and promote the company and its products at trade exhibitions, meetings, and work visits.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for product range and supply records/reports/information to the sales manager in line with agreed formats and time frames.

  • Identify and develop business improvement initiatives.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to sell company products and services outside of own product portfolio.

  • Participate in sales meetings and/or promotional activities as requested by the Head of Sales.

  • Other ad-hoc duties, projects, and assignments as needed or directed.


SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Scientific background with experience in labs or hospitals, or sales background with a keen interest in clinical sales.

  • 3-5 years of sales experience in a similar area, looking after lab equipment or lab sales experience.

  • Experience working in a hospital setting, selling into hospitals.

  • Understanding of the sales cycle.

  • Exceptional commercial ability, capable of negotiating and executing significant commercial deals.

  • Excellent customer relationship management skills with the ability to manage accounts and build relationships.

  • Ability to identify, close, and maximize opportunities and develop them into long-term business.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the company.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative, high sense of urgency, and commitment to execute.

  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and manage workloads, including working effectively under stress and time pressures.

  • Good planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and colleagues.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to work effectively with a variety of situations or individuals.

  • Professional who is experienced and dependable with discretion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

  • PC expertise with proficiency in Microsoft applications.

  • Clean full driving license.

  • Flexibility to travel nationwide.
